Split a PDF without uploading private documents
PDFs frequently contain more information than you need to share. A client may need one invoice from a monthly statement, an application may request only the signature page, or a long report may need to be separated into smaller sections for email. Split PDF lets you keep the useful pages without sending the complete document to another server.
Unlike server-based services, this tool opens the file directly in your browser and creates the result in local memory. Contracts, bank statements, medical paperwork, tax documents, and internal reports remain on your device throughout the process.
How to split PDF pages
- Select a PDF by dropping it onto the upload area or choosing it from your device.
- Choose an output mode. Extract selected pages creates one new PDF; Split every page creates a ZIP containing individual PDFs.
- Enter page numbers such as
1-3, 5, 8-10when using selected-page mode. - Click the split button and download the result when processing finishes.
Extract selected pages or split every page?
| Mode | Output | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Extract selected pages | One PDF | Keeping a chapter, form, receipt, or chosen page range |
| Split every page | ZIP of individual PDFs | Separating scanned forms, labels, certificates, or invoices |
Selected-page mode accepts comma-separated page numbers, continuous ranges, or both. For example, 1-4, 7, 11-13 keeps the first four pages, page seven, and pages eleven through thirteen. Every-page mode names files in numerical order so they remain correctly sorted after extraction.
Original PDF quality stays intact
The tool copies the original PDF page objects into new documents. It does not take screenshots or re-render pages as JPEG images. Selectable and searchable text remains text, vector logos stay sharp at high zoom levels, hyperlinks remain embedded, and images retain their original resolution. Page sizes and orientation are also preserved.
Split PDFs on Windows, Mac, iPhone, or Android
Because processing happens in the browser, the workflow is the same on every platform. Windows users do not need Adobe Acrobat, Mac users do not have to rearrange thumbnails manually in Preview, and mobile users avoid installing a one-purpose app. Open the page in a modern browser, choose the PDF from Files or local storage, select the pages, and download.
PDF page order and range tips
Page numbers refer to the physical order in the PDF, beginning with page 1. A printed page label may differ when a document uses roman numerals or starts its visible numbering after a cover. Check the document in a PDF reader if the printed labels and physical page positions do not match. Invalid or out-of-range page numbers are rejected before a file is created.
